» Now, for the third year of Solo Nexus...
Here are my plans for this blog for 2013:
- A year-long solo RPG campaign: I'll offer more details on this soon. What's most important about this project is that it will appeal to social gamers as well as solo enthusiasts because my hope is to ultimately showcase solo techniques that can make for reliable tools for a "low-prep" GM with a group to run.
- Additional rules for The 9Qs: Optional add-ons to the standard questions of the 9Qs are being tested right now. Furthermore, there are two other elements - both related to setting - that I'm still working on. Once all have been tweaked, they'll be packaged into a new 9Qs document. (The original nine questions are NOT being changed at all.) My "Quick NPCs with Story Cubes" will probably get folded into it as well, and a lot of what will be swirling around this document will be tied to the solo RPG campaign hinted at above.
- More board games: I learned quite a lot from Elder Sign. As a 1+ player game, I could play it any time I wanted, making it worth the cost. When others were around, my solo games had made me so well-versed in the mechanics that group play went extremely smoothly and made our group time much more fun. More of this with other board games will certainly be on the horizon
- A simplified, fun war-game artificial intelligence: This is only a partial consideration right now, but the thought of a quick AI general has been on my mind for a few months.
- More Sargon: People are actually requesting this. Don't blame me.
