From Carsten:
A little while ago, I submitted my 4th Edition ruleset (which actually isn't really a ruleset, just a structure applied to D&D rounds), which I use to play D&D as a tabletop dungeon-crawl boardgame a la Descent, to Solo Nexus. I submitted a similar version to Boardgamegeek and was asked if the Red Box starter was enough to try it out. It is actually all you need. Then I made my pledge to solo gaming appreciation month to play a heroic tier D&D solo campaign as a dungeon delve boardgame with one hero from level 1 to 10. Suddenly a crazy idea hit me.....what if I would try to play the entire campaign without having to buy anything? Would it be possible to play a complete D&D heroic dungeon delving-boardgame campaign (level 1-10) without having to pay anything besides a couple of bucks for printing and some office supplies? Since I have been playing miniature skirmish games, roleplaying games and boardgames for about 24 years now (I am currently 34) I do have everything I would ever need, tons of maps, minis and rulebooks. But that is not the point. I wanted to know, if it would be entire possible to get 10 levels of dungeon delving in without all this stuff in a fun and still appealing way. So I embarked on a personal quest to search the net to gather everything a gamer would need to play. By that I of course mean legally.
