RPG Solitaire Challenge Closes

Yesterday was the final day of the RPG Solitaire Challenge. Since 1/1/11, we've been able to watch several contestants' works in progress thanks to the links provided by the contest's moderator, Emily from Black and Green Games.

Among some of the more ingenious, unusual, and original entries were
  • The Clock Strikes by Devon J. Kelly - "You are a Clock. Not just a clock, but a Clock. You are special. You’ve hung on the wall for months, keeping perfect time. Until now."
  • G by David Pidgeon - "divided up into 52 turns, each of which represents one week of time passing for your astronaut"
  • Teen Witch by Joe Mcdaldno - "This is a game about being a teenage girl who is a witch. It is played all alone. It will help you find strength and beauty, but it is dangerous."
  • Stage Names by Sage LaTorra - "Each game of Stage Names follows the career of a performer. Twice a week you’ll write blog posts from the perspectives of many people involved in the performer’s life."
  • Emotional Rollercoaster by Joseph Gamblin - "Characters in E~R are not made like a traditional RPG. There are no stats and there are no skills. They are instead, a collection of positive and negative feelings, which are called Treasures and Baggage."
  • Caravan by Emily Boss - "Everywhere you go you find adventure, and the steps you take shape the world around you."
  • Halflight by Graham Walmsley - "It reads like a Fighting Fantasy book (if you’re in the United Kingdom) or a Choose Your Own Adventure book (if you’re in the United States)."
Good luck to all of the entrants, and congratulations for sharing all of the amazing solo ideas!

Winners will be announced on February 1, 2011.
